I have managed to create the .best.popcorn.ever. Seriously. It's sweet, and it really tastes like red wine. Delicious.
I made this for a big Hitchcock fan who couldn't decide which film he wanted me to base his cake on. So I went for a Hitchcock 'homage', creating his iconic silhouette using lots of vintage film posters. I also piped on his signature.
I took a 3 day course to learn how to make a very special cake, 'Higgins the Butler', originally created by Kaysie Lackey, taught by her. This is what I did. I added my own personal touches and gave him a first name, Igor. His body is cake, the rest is sugar and chocolate (the apple is real). He's about 2 foot tall. He's currently residing in my kitchen, but will be 'waiting' on guests at the opening party of the cake studio I have started working at. More on that later this month. _
This is a cake with a working magic trick. The party is on the 9th of March 2012 and the actual birthday is on the 10th of March, he is turning 50. Follow the instructions on the ipod and see what happens.
Here's another magical cake I made last week. That's two magic cakes in one week, word of my specialty must be spreading... :-)
Cakes, treats, meats, and edible oddities that aren't for everyone, but to everyone's taste...
